The heritage city of #Warangal is a treasure town . One of the tri-cities of #Hanamkonda and #Kazipet , #Warangal was the capital city of the ancient #KakatiyaDynasty .

The name #Warangal came from the words #OruGallu meaning "single stone" which refers to a boulder inside the #WarangalFort premises . The famous sites of the city include #BhadrakaliTemple , #ThousandPillarTemple and the #Warangal fort . These tourist sites stretch in between the tri cities.

After paying a quick visit to the
#MaaBhadrakali temple, and the#ThousandPillarTemple , we hired an auto rickshaw for Rs.150/- and reached the #WarangalFort. The fort was seized three times . The famous eunuch Malik Kafur destroyed the fort , and looted the Kohinoor diamond to present to the Delhi Sultanate . The Tughlaqs very well understood that the Kakatiyas derived their power and prestige from the Swambhu Shiva temple, so they razed off the entire temple complex, leaving only four Torans which is the emblem of the newly formed Telangana state . Exquisite filigree work can be seen on granite rocks which is reminiscent of a mix of Chalukya and Kakatiya style of architecture. Next we went to the #EkashilaChildrensPark located just opposite to the fort . There is a huge boulder inside the park . Among the locals , it was popular as the "OruGallu" , Oru means one and Gallu means stone .Over the period of time , the word OruGallu became Warangal , and this is the way the heritage city got it's name . It is still untouched by rampant commercialization , and before it gets too touristy , do pay a visit to this amazing city for a treasured memory . #WarangalFort #KohinoorDiamond #EkashilaChildrensPark #TelanganaTourism #IndiaVlog #IncredibleIndia #travellingtwogether #englishtravelvlog #warangal ..
