In today's vlog we will see a video of the ancient princely state of Orchha , which is in the tentative list of the UNESCO World Heritage site.  Jhansi is the nearest railway station , and from there , we took shared auto to reach  Orchha .  Interestingly though Jhansi is in UP , Orchha at a distance of only twelve kms, lies in Madhya Pradesh .  Before visiting the main Orchha fort,  we went to the Ram Raja temple .  According to the locals , King Madhukar Shah was a devotee of Lord Sri Krishna whereas his wife Ganesh Kumari prayed to Lord Shri Ram . After a fight with her husband on the superiority of Shri Krishna or Shri Ram, the  queen ,Ganesh Kumari went to Ayodhya to bring Lord Shri Ram with her to Orchha . After strict penance and meditation Shri Ram was convinced to come with her in Orchha with some conditions. The first was that he would be the new king of Orchha in place of existing Madhukar Shah and said that He will get fixed at the same  place where the queen would first keep Him . After returning to Orchha the tired queen by mistake kept Shri Ram in her palace instead of the Chaturbhuj Temple . And the idol of Ram got fixed at her palace, which was later on converted to the Ram Raja temple .  This is the only temple in India where Sri Ram is worshipped as the king .He stays in the palace , is provided with armed salutations with the guard of honour on every single day .   Soon after quarelling with Ganesh kuwari,  king Madhukar shah realised that Lord Shri Ram and Shri Krishna are the incarnations of lord Vishnu , so they are one and the same .  Just beside the Ramraja Temple lies the Chaturbhuj Temple  where Chatur means four and Bhuj stands for hand. It was originally built for lord Sri Ram , but now his other form that is lord Sri Krishna is worshipped over here .   We visited the Orchha fort after that , the video of which will be uploaded in the next episode and at the sunset we went to see the Royal Chhatris .   The bank of the  calm and clear Betwa was soothing and the sun setting behind the cenotaphs created an enchanting atmosphere. The valiant deeds of the Rajas and Maharajas of Orchha and their brilliant architecture speaks a volume about the historic times . But somehow sitting by the river and seeing the reflection of the cenotaphs, felt like , life and death merged with each other in the waters of Betwa .  While returning from the royal chhatris we got into an e rickshaw who dropped us till the auto rickshaw stand and the sombre mood was soon faded by the power of music.
